Video Game: Batman: The Telltale Series

Way back in 2016 Telltale studios released their episodic Batman game. With their current ongoing release of their second entry into the series, and the game’s release as one of the two free games of the month for January for PS Plus members, it seemed a fitting time to go back and take a look at this game and see just how well Telltale did with their first foray into the comic universe. For those that are unaware, Telltale is a games developer who specializes in story driven

    Review Round Up for 1/17/18

A slight change for the next few months. We’ll be closely tracking Justice League and Avengers as they both have big events going on. Those will be the spotlighted books of the week, unless there is a book so excellent or big that we just HAVE to do a full review of it. There are links to full reviews of the two spotlighted books of the week. Mike's Picks - Week of January 17th, 2018

Brief Description of what is being covered this week and whether or not a trade is included. DC Justice League #37 This story drives what could be the spark for a major change in the DC Universe. We already know thanks to Doomsday Clock that at least Gotham turns on Batman. However, this story could be the turning point of where the downturn begins. The Justice League is already beginning to fray at the seams, so this story feels more and more important, despite it's early

    Batman & The Signal #1 (of 3)

Spoiler Free Duke Thomas adjusts to his role as the newest member of the Bat family, particularly by being the first one of them to operate in the light of day. The city is not quite acclimated to having a hero operating during the day. We get a glimpse of Commissioner Gordon during the daytime interacting with a detective. We also see what Duke’s life is like outside of the Bat life. He gets a new base of operations from Batman, who is minimally in this book. Then he fa

    Week of January 3rd, 2018

Welcome to 2018, which looks to be a big comic book year. Some pretty cool books this week, including a couple of miniseries. No trade this week, but there will be one next week. DC Batman: The White Knight #4 This series approaches its midway point, we may get a little bit more of the former Joker's plan to be the beacon for Gotham City's people and get rid of the increasingly destructive Batman. Batman has also suffered a loss making him more distant, even to his own fa

Weekly Watch/Read for the Week of December 31st 2017

Happy New Year! Not much is going on from the Watch end this week. Many shows are still on winter break, but there are still some options. Some good series are out to Read this week, so you can still get your nerd fix in. This week, we get 2 Marvel TV shows, one live-action and one animated, and 2 comic book miniseries. Watch Marvel's Agents of SHIELD It's hard to believe we're already 6 episodes into this season. We have Daisy in a precarious situation this week and she
Doomsday Clock #2 (of 12) Review

Doomsday Clock #2 (of 12) Review

Spoiler Free This issue builds on the last one in a big way. We get some insight into why Marionette and the Mime are important to the story. We also get the Watchmen characters in the DC Universe. Bruce Wayne is involved a little bit in this issue. Rorschach and Ozymandias split up to meet a couple of iconic DC characters which in turn leads to a couple of interesting confrontations. There is a big cliffhanger ending that will make you want the next issue sooner rather
