Rapid Review Round up for 2/7/18

This week’s reviews will be a little different. They are about a week behind (sorry about that), so we will be moving this week’s review structure to a Buy/Don’t Buy format with regular reviews hopefully returning this current week. There are no full reviews this week. Don’t forget to vote for the Twisties! Please let us know what you’d like us to review by leaving a comment on our Facebook page, send us an email to thetwistedcape@gmail.com or messaging any of us directly. Keep in mind that the format we’ll follow will be as follows: Book Title and Number(Story Arc Name) What you should do Selling points (if any) Here we go! Amazing Spider-Man #795 (Threat Level Red) Buy The interplay between Spidey and the Sorcerer Supreme has always been good and it’s even better now when it’s Loki instead of Dr. Strange. Also, Osborn merges with the Carnage symbiote and he doesn’t quite seem to be in control… Avengers #679 (No Surrender) Buy The identity of the Challenger is revealed, as is the fate of an Avenger. A healthy amount of this is dedicated to the Challenger’s backstory and his relationship with the Grandmaster. It looks like we’ll be getting an old friend back in the near future as well… Batman #40 (Superfriends) Buy It deals with the cliffhanger from the last issue, and also deepens the relationship between Batman and Wonder Woman as well as Batman and Catwoman. Batman: White Knight #5 Buy This story gets absolutely crazy and it wraps up in 3 more issues. We are in for a wild ride in this reversal story. Justice League (The People vs. Justice League) Buy Story moves forward with big developments on all the fronts shown in this issue except the Flash, except we get a cool sequence of him running in space! Spider-Man/Deadpool (Area 14) Buy This book is constantly funny and the craziness with Chameleon continues. Superman #40 (The Last Days) Buy, but only if you are following Jon’s development Superman and son go to a world about to be destroyed like Krypton and Clark’s savior complex gets put on display, while Jon continues to grow as a character. X-Men Gold #21 (Brotherhood) Buy, but only if you care about these specific characters Art is pretty good and there are some shifts to the members of the team as well as the status quo. X-Men Red #1 (The Hate Machine) Buy Jean Grey, back in the land of the living leading her own team of X-Men dedicated to bringing the ideals of Charles Xavier to the world on a world stage. The team make up is cool #XMen #Deadpool #Spiderman #JusticeLeague #Avengers #Batman #Superman
