MCU Retrospective: Captain American: The Winter Soldier

Captain America: The Winter Soldier was honestly probably one of the MCU movies I was most looking forward to re-watching. It is considered possibly the best movie in the MCU and for extremely good reason.
Chris Evans very much seems to fall into the role of Cap nicely in this movie which, much like the first movie I’ve noticed, has a very strong spy thriller/espionage feel to it. Everything about this movie is brilliant: the acting/character chemistry, the writing, the action. There’s almost nothing about this movie that I don’t love.
The one thing in the movie that I don’t love though, or at least the one thing that I sincerely question and wonder why, is the decision to turn Zola’s consciousness into a computer program. It feels so jarringly out of place with the rest of this gritty, relatively serious spy drama.
But that small thing aside I have really nothing else to criticize about this movie. Everything was either perfect or damn near it. The fight choreography in this movie is also some of the best of the entire MCU, the knife fight between Bucky and Steve being one of the absolute highlights.
The worse the movie, the easier time I have writing these things. When they’re good it's difficult to think of what I can say that hasn’t already been said. This movie is just excellent all around and I don’t have anything more to say about it. Watch it if you’ve somehow never seen it and if you have, treat yourself and watch it again.
